Trimble Nomad Series

The Trimble® Nomad™ series offers all-in-one convenience in a light-weight device— engineered for superior performance in harsh outdoor environments. Trimble Nomad handhelds are productivity-focused GIS data collection devices offering full compatibility with Trimble Mapping & GIS software and a choice of configurations to match your existing workflow.

Standalone performance The Trimble Nomad handheld has a powerful 806 MHz processor, 128 MB of RAM, up to 1 GB of Flash storage, integrated wireless capabilities, and a high resolution VGA display. Applications run smoothly and maps are displayed with never seen before clarity. With a variety of configuration options, including integrated GPS, integrated digital camera, and an integrated laser barcode scanner, the Trimble Nomad handheld provides an all-in-one solution for field data collection and inspection activities.

Productivity in harsh conditions The Trimble Nomad 800L, 800LC, and 800LE handhelds are equipped with an integrated GPS receiver designed for productive data collection in difficult GPS conditions such as under forest canopy or against tall buildings. In applications, such as forestry mapping and natural resource management, where accuracy may be less important but high productivity is essential, the Trimble Nomad handheld is ideally suited.

If you need better accuracy than you can achieve autonomously, you can postprocess your GPS data with Trimble’s professional grade office software. Postprocessing delivers reliable 2 to 5 meter accuracy and is the best way to control the quality and consistency of your data.

Built for extremes The Trimble Nomad handheld will meet and surpass your expectations for ruggedness and performance in all conditions. You don’t need to compromise on ruggedness by carrying non-rugged peripherals, or connecting to additional equipment via exposed expansion ports. The Nomad series meets the rigorous MIL-STD-810F military standard for drops, vibration, humidity, and extreme temperature. It also comes with an IP67 rating, meaning that the Trimble Nomad handheld is completely sealed from dust, and can survive submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

Onboard image capture and barcode options Capturing digital photographs in the field has never been so easy. Using the optional integrated camera, images are stored directly on the device and are available straight away to be used by your field software. Reduce the time spent on manual data entry by using the optional integrated barcode scanner to automate data collection and asset tracking workflow.

Part of the Trimble product family As part of Trimble’s family of GPS solutions, the Trimble Nomad series is fully compatible with Trimble software solutions for professional GIS data collection and maintenance. Existing customers can continue to use the same streamlined workflows and DGPS infrastructure.

In the field, you have a choice of TerraSync™ software or the Trimble GPScorrect™ extension for ESRI ArcPad. You can also choose any off-the-shelf NMEA protocol GPS field software, or use the GPS Pathfinder® Tools Software Development Kit (SDK) to build an application that’s customized to your needs. Office processing and postprocessing capability is provided with GPS Pathfinder Office software and Trimble GPS Analyst™ extension for ESRI ArcGIS.

The Trimble Nomad handheld is not specified to provide real-time SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS) differential correction.
Bluetooth type approvals are country specific. The Trimble Nomad series has Bluetooth approvals in the U.S., Canada, the EU, Australia, and New Zealand. For other countries please contact your local Distributor.
Horizontal Root Mean Squared accuracy. Requires data to be collected using horizontal mounting, minimum of 4 satellites, PDOP mask at 99, SNR mask at 12 dBHz, elevation mask at 5 degrees, and reasonable multipath conditions. Ionospheric conditions, multipath signals or obstruction of the sky by buildings or heavy tree canopy may degrade precision by interfering with signal reception. Accuracy varies with proximity to base station by +1 ppm for postprocessing and real-time.
