It is highly recommended that all DPC programs be recompiled with the latest version of DPCEdit.

DataPlus Professional is not fully Microsoft Vista compatible unless these additional steps are performed.

The help system invoked from the Application Generator is not viewable unless the Windows Help program is downloaded. This is available at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148. However, the PDF manuals are still viewable with Adobe Acrobat.

The DOS-based test application invoked from the Application Generator is not functional without a DOS emulator (such as DOSBox), so testing of the application on the PC cannot be performed.

Issues addressed in v3.xx from v2.50.0:

CE Host:

The "duplicate icons" issue when installing the hand-held software on PocketPC's has been corrected.
On an update/repair operation, the DataPlus icon is restored to where it should be; this helps in cases where the hand-held loses its registry (and hence Desktop icon, for instance).

DPCEdit:

Variables are now allocated on 8-byte boundaries in the data segment so as to correctly support DPC execution with version 3 of the hand-held software.

Generator:

v2.50.1 introduced an error in saving flow control information. This has been corrected.
Added checking for pre-version 3 DPC programs, as it is recommended that older programs be recompiled. Warning messages are given to the user if older DPC programs exist that haven't yet been compiled with version 3 of DPCEdit.

Hand-held:

DPTest, DPP_EDIT, and the DOS and CE hand-held software has been modified to work with older DPC programs as well as DPC programs compiled with version 3 of DPCEdit. This corrects issues with global variables not being initialized to zero.

Installation Instructions for existing DataPlus Professional DOS and CE users who want to update their older versions of DataPlus Professional DOS and CE to the most current DOS and CE version available.

This DataPlus Professional patch is ONLY for version 2.0 and later. It will NOT patch any package version prior to v2.0.

Only the following installations qualify:
A) DataPlus Professional 2.0 or greater.
B) DataPlus CE Host Upgrade v1.0 or greater. (CE Upgrade)

It will update all installed DataPlus Professional files if they qualify. The same patch is used for all registered DataPlus components including CE Host and the hand held Files. New Windows CE devices and platforms are now supported, check the compatibility list below.

The minimum requirements are as follows:

An 80486, StrongARM-compatible, MIPS, or XScale-compatible processor
Screen dimension of at least 320x240 or 240x320
Windows CE v3.x, Windows CE.NET 4.x, Windows Mobile 2003, 2003 Second Edition or Windows Mobile 5 or Mobile 6
32MB of RAM
1MB of free storage space

To install the Patch...
If any DataPlus Professional components are running (i.e. Host etc.), close them first. Download the "DPP Patch Post 200.exe" file into an empty directory or Open (Run) it from its current location.

If saved to a local directory, from inside Windows Explorer double click on "DPP Patch Post 200.exe".

This will replace older files. Follow the instructions from the setup wizard.
